I am out of ideas right now.
I'm tired of reading trendy literature that just gets regurgitated into trendy summer movies. Those of you who read voraciously have experienced my current dilemma- I AM UNINSPIRED AND BORED!
I am one week into summer and II have had a hard time finding my summer reads. My "to be read" pile was devoid of anything that held my attention. I have been spending so much time writing that I forgot about my other love- reading. It's a give-and-take, but in order to be a writer, one must also read. It's where I draw a major part of my ideas. It's not necessarily copying or stealing, but it's the same for any other artist. In order to create art, one must be surrounded with it.
My solution- to have a summer entirely filled with literature written by Indie authors. Yes, some of it just may be crap, and I'm sure there are some people out there that think what I write is crap, but it won't deter me from my plan. I am going to devote the rest of my summer to reading books written and promoted independently. And what is so great, I've already started (see my other blog, "What I'm reading")! So far, I have read two books and enjoyed them- especially Waking the Merrow.
If you have any suggestions, or would like your own books promoted here, please drop me a message. I'm not truly a book blogger, but free promotion is always good!
