And yes, as it turned out we were beaten twice! I never proclaimed to ba an expert on all things William B Travis. But having attained a degree in history and a Masters in reading, I am moderately irritated.
So we decided to try it again. Spring is definitely a time to start new things. And this experiment with words involves Callum again. We will begin writing a children's novel. Callum and I have already created an outline, characters, and a title. Although he has warned me that I am in no way to take over the project. He wants his name on the cover, and he wants it to be bigger than mine!
I have discovered that it is hard to teach someone not how to write, but how to write a book. Cal expects it to magically happen when concluding the first three -page draft. How do I teach him patience when I barely have any to spare myself? I can't even handle rejection at not winning 3rd grade essay contest. I have higher hopes for my son though.
I look foward to this new adventure. I hope to grow as a writer and a mother. Stay tuned for Callum's pint-sized greatness!
His debut novel will be called......
And yeah yeah yeah... I know. The Porter will be out in approximately two weeks. Don't think I've forgotten!
